The Fellowship Committee

Bringing about fellowship in the church and community is one of the most important aspects of togetherness. Striving to bring about this togetherness, the Fellowship Committee works diligently to plan events and to engage parishioners.

Since its creation in October of 2011, the Fellowship Committee has organized several very distinct and successful events.

Family Movie Night: To kick off the brand new fellowship events, the committe hosted a family movie night. The night was a huge success and was attended by parishoners of all ages. People gathered to laugh, smile and enjoy each other's company while watching the movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

Senior Appreciation Lunch: 55+ were treated to a catered luncheon compliments of the Fireside Restaurant. Nostalgic music, great conversation and delicious food honored our very special parishioners.

Old-Fashioned Christmas Party: Families and kids of all ages gathered for a night of Christmas fun. The children had a variety of crafts to choose from while mom and dads joined in the fun. Tree decorating and familiar Christmas melodies made the evening enjoyable. Our Latino families shared their traditions along with ours. Merry Christmas and Feliz Navidad!

Ice Cream Social: Our Religious Prep children enjoyed making sundaes and ice-cream treats while their parents attended a meeting the week before their classes started.

Stop and Shop Sunday: Over 18 vendors filled the Heritage Room with their goods to entice the people to shop for their Christmas and holiday gifts.

Mothers Day Tea: Every mom deserves a treat! All moms, grandmoms and godmothers were welcomed to a room decorated with pastel colors and spring flowers. Every table had a unique teapot as a centerpiece. Various teas and tea-sandwiches were served as well as some tasty desserts. All received a special gift.

Souper Soul Soup Night I and II: One of the most popular events hosted by the Fellowship Committee was the Souper Soul Soup Night. For a flat fee of five dollars, parishoners taste-tested different soups from over 18 crockpots, as well as salad, bread and homemade desserts. The event so well attended and such a success that Souper Soul Soup Night II was held the following year.

If you are interested in joining the Fellowship Committee, volunteering for an event, or have a suggestion, please contact the rectory. Meetings are held prior to an event. Please join us, as we are always looking for fresh ideas and new members!
